The Three Rules of Rest

When it comes to fitness and physical health, there are a lot of myths out there.

Here is one of the biggest lies out there: Taking a rest day is lazy.

This is not true! In fact, you are doing your body more harm than good by constantly hustling. We totally understand that finding the balance between rest and hard work is a challenge.

This week we wanted to share the Three Rules of Rest. These guidelines will make sure you treat your body kindly and safely.

THREE RULES OF REST:

Listen To Your Body

You know what you need. You know the difference between needing rest and feeling unmotivated. If you feel like you need a rest, take a day off and thank your body for knowing what you need.

Take 48 Hour Breaks from Weights

If you work out with weights in a NuSculpt, NuBarre or NuCircuit class, take a 48 hour break from lifting. All three of these classes are full body workouts that are designed to break down your muscles in order to make them stronger. You can safely follow up a weighted workout with yoga or cardio.

Incorporate Active Rest

Rest doesn’t always mean staying home in your PJs and watching movies. (But sometimes it does!) You can incorporate active rest into your workout through NuRestore. Restorative yoga is not only a great way to rest your muscles, but gives your body the stretching and soothing it needs to continue working hard for you.

We love seeing our clients care for themselves. That is why NuPower exists. We opened our doors so people could care for their bodies and spirits.

Take rest. Work hard. Shine on.
