Three Tips for Practicing Yoga at Home
We have been BLOWN AWAY by our amazing Tribe’s response to our move to virtual classes. So many of you have shown up, rolled out your mats and made the time to practice yoga. We are proud of you and we are grateful for you.
Practicing at home is an adjustment. One of the things we miss most about our four walls (other than seeing all of your beautiful faces) is the ability to leave stress at the door and focus on yoga. Keeping up with yoga at home is challenging because you are not able to be away from the distractions, especially if you have kids or are working from home.
But we have never needed our homes to be a place where we can rest more than this season.
Here are three tips for how to successfully practice yoga at home.
Put Your Phone on Do Not Disturb
Follow the studio’s rules when you practice at home! No distractions. You owe it to yourself to turn off your email and your texts for 45-60 minutes each day. Even if you are watching NuPower Yoga on your device, you can decide what distractions you allow in your space.

Choose an Intentional Space
Our AMAZING teacher Jade Parente has created a beautiful at-home studio. She recommends finding a cozy spot with tons of natural light where you have room to move. If you can, go practice with NuPower outside! When else can you bring your favorite teacher outside??

Commit to a Class Time
One of the hardest things about working from home is the illusion of time. It can feel like you have ALL day to workout and before you know it, the sun has gone down and you are wondering where all the time went. Sign up for a class on Mindbody the night before. Be intentional about your schedule and stay connected to your Tribe.
