Rhythm and Ritual
Modern life often pulls us out of rhythm.
We wake up rushed, move through the day overstimulated, and fall into bed still carrying the momentum of it all.
Ayurveda teaches that the beginning and end of the day are powerful moments to restore balance.
In this cozy and practical workshop, we’ll explore simple morning and evening rituals that support digestion, nervous system balance, and more restful sleep.
Sunday Slow Down: Soundbath
Why a Sound Bath?
Sound baths use a variety of instruments to offer relief from stress, a safe place for emotional release, and a break from the noise of daily life. They are an opportunity to experience deep rest and restoration.
A sound bath is an immersive acoustic experience intended to help restore harmony and balance energy in the body and mind. This popular practice is based on the understanding that everything in our bodies—from cells to organs—is made of energy vibrating at different frequencies. When we’re stressed, tired, or out of balance, these frequencies can become disturbed. The external tones created in a sound bath help the body to come back into balance, and support the body’s natural ability to transform and heal.
What happens in a sound bath?
During a sound bath, you lie or sit comfortably using bolsters or pillows, blankets and other props. Waves of sound from instruments such as singing bowls, chimes, rainsticks, and other acoustic tools wash over you as you rest. These sounds work on a molecular level, creating vibrations that the body can feel and respond to. Just as ultrasound is used medically to reduce inflammation, sound frequencies can influence the electrical forces in our nervous system and brain. Music and tones are purposely created to stimulate specific brainwave patterns and electrical activity, promoting states of relaxation, focus, deeper awareness, and even healing.
Sound baths help shift the brain through different states. Most participants go from active thinking and problem-solving into relaxed awareness and deep meditation. Some people experience dreamlike states and others move into deep sleep. Each individual’s journey is different but sound baths can help clear energetic blockages, allow a safe space for emotional release, and help us all connect more deeply to ourselves or something bigger.
What Instruments do you use in a Sound Bath?
Crystal Singing Bowls made of pure quartz crystal and tuned to the C major scale. When played, these bowls create rich, resonant tones that you hear and feel throughout your body.
Tongue Drum tuned to A minor pentatonic that produces melodic, soothing tones. It’s gentle, rhythmic quality helps anchor the mind and create a sense of calm focus.
Koshi Chimes offer delicate, ethereal sounds that seem to hang in the air. These chimes create a sense of spaciousness and lightness, helping to clear mental clutter and invite a feeling of peace.
Tingsha are small Tibetan cymbals that produce a clear, high-pitched tone. Traditionally used to mark the beginning or end of meditation, their bright sound helps clear the energy field and bring focused awareness to the present moment.
An Energy Chime is a small aluminum alloy bar mounted on a wooden base. A shimmering sustained sound is created when struck lightly with a mallet. The pleasing and clear vibration is helpful for marking transitions.
Rainsticks mimic the gentle sound of falling rain, offering a naturally calming and grounding quality. The soft, flowing sound helps ease the nervous system into a state of rest.
Each instrument contributes its own unique frequency and texture, creating a layered soundscape designed to guide you into deeper states of relaxation and presence.Sunday May 3 4:00pm
Sacred Transitions
Nourish Yourself With More Care
A Class to Support Peri & Post Menopause
In this phase of our lives, the nervous system is tender. Hormones ebb and flow, affecting mood, memory, and steadiness. Yoga offers a steadying hand—to regulate, ground, and create space between sensation and reaction.
It teaches us how to be with ourselves in a new way.
There is also something quieter, but just as important:
a remembering.
A remembering that our body is not betraying us, it is reorganizing.
A remembering that this transition is not an ending, but a refinement.
A remembering that wisdom often arrives when we are willing to pause and feel.

Sound Bath
A sound bath offers a range of physical, mental, and emotional benefits that can support overall well-being. Here are the main advantages:
Deep relaxation
Sound baths promote a relaxed state by encouraging the nervous system to shift from fight-or-flight (sympathetic) to rest-and-digest (parasympathetic). This can lower heart rate, reduce muscle tension, and create a sense of calm.
Reduced stress and anxiety
The immersive vibrations and repetitive tones can help quiet the mind, decrease cortisol levels, and ease anxious thoughts. Many people report feeling lighter and more centered after a session.
Improved sleep
Regular sound baths can improve sleep quality and help with insomnia by promoting relaxation, reducing nighttime rumination, and rebalancing circadian rhythms.
Enhanced mood and emotional release
Sound can access emotions that are hard to reach with words. Participants often experience emotional release, greater clarity, and uplifted mood after a session.
Heightened focus and mental clarity
The meditative aspects of a sound bath can sharpen concentration, clear mental fog, and increase creativity and problem-solving ability.
Pain reduction and physical relief
Some people find relief from chronic pain, tension headaches, and muscle soreness as the deep relaxation can reduce perceived pain and improve body awareness.
Support for meditation and mindfulness practice
Sound baths provide an accessible entry point to meditation, helping participants settle into stillness and deepen mindfulness with less effort.
Improved breathing and circulation
As breathing naturally deepens during relaxation, oxygenation improves and circulation can benefit, supporting overall physical health.
Nervous system regulation and resilience
Regular exposure can strengthen the nervous system’s ability to recover from stressors, improving resilience and emotional regulation over time.
Community and connection
Group sound baths foster a sense of shared experience and calm, which can reduce feelings of isolation and support social well-being.
Practical notes
Sessions are typically passive: you lie comfortably, often with eyes closed, while instruments (e.g., crystal bowls, gongs, chimes, tuning forks) create layered soundscapes.
Benefits vary by person and session; results can be immediate or cumulative with repeated attendance.
Sound baths are generally safe, but those with certain medical conditions (e.g., epilepsy, severe heart conditions, or sensitivity to loud sounds) should consult a healthcare provider before participating.
